In my third game, I again face Rafal Anusiak. Since my Cryx drop is intended to be Ossrum, I take this list. Rafal chooses his Dark Host list, as he thinks it will work even better than Ghost Fleet.
Hist list:
Dark Host
Skarre 1
- Free Skarlock
- Inflictor
- 2 Stalkers
Wraith Engine
Necrotech
Scrap Thrall
Darragh
Free Tartarus
10 Bane Warriors with free UA
2 x 10 Bane Knights
The scenario is Spread the Net, and when I see how he places his clouds I realize I have already lost the game. There is no way for me to destroy all his infantry, I can't touch his BE, and Skarre can score her zone with no threat of damage coming her way. I am actually hoping that I can punch through on the right, and maybe go around the cloud and kill Skarre some time.
I run forward, putting Snipe on Avalancher and FFE on one artillery. BE goes a bit more to the side.
Everything runs up, and Skarre goes to her zone.
I remove a stalker and as many bane knights as I can. I feat.
Didn't make a picture after his turn, but he has an ARM25 non-incorporeal BE in my face, with all my models in the middle zone dead, avalancher further back, my zone contested, four of my bunnies knocked down with an avalancher shot (machine wraith's doing), and Skarre having scored four points (her zone, middle zone and two flags). No point to continue the game, as I can't contest all four sources of scoring. We agree that Rafal wins 6-1 (I can probably still clear my zone and contest one of his things, but this is still victory).
Analysis
Clearly, it was not possible to win the slow way, and the only way I could have tried is deploying against his clouds, running really far and hoping to do a feat turn assassination with bulldozing Skarre into a cloud and Avalancher KD. Far from sure it could have worked but should at least have tried.
