Battle at Lund Champions game 3: Cyphon vs Grimm 1

My last game at Battle at Lund was against trollbloods. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of my opponent. He had a list with MK and Grimm with infantry. I took Cyphon because of MK. When he dropped Grimm, I thought it's a very bad matchup for me, but my opponent said he thought it was also a bad one for him.

Why? For me, because he can remove my infantry without tough checks or corpse tokens for alexia. For him, because of sprays.

I do not remember my opponent's lists but he had trolls with swords, boar riding trolls, shield guard trolls and two heavies (bomber and mauler).

We both deployed fairly centrally. It was to be a game of attrition, so no scenario-motivated skews.

My opponent runs up and projects threat.

I keep my heavies back, and put up both onslaught and perseverance. Drudges spread out, and the overlords are kept out of threat ranges far to the left.

He comes in semi-cautiously and removes a good number of drudges, with no corpse tokens.

I feat, and remove all but one boar. I do quite a lot of damage on the bomber but he lives. On the left, sprays remove a big amount of trolls with swords (and I forgot that Alexia should have gotten corpses for that). Anyway, at this moment I was more annoyed with Alexia than considered her an asset, because my bad positioning of her last turn caused huge unwinding problems to get the agitator out. I still managed to do it, though.

In response, my opponent removes two wreckers, an overlord and finishes the benders unit on the left. He does not kill or damage the brain on the subduer. The mauler back off to score on the flag.

I clean up more infantry on the left and remove both his mauler and bomber (first subduer drags the mauler in, does a bit of work, then wrecker comes to finish him and finish the bomber).

My opponent is very severely down on attrition. He tries to get some pieces to my heavies but they are fully operational.

I kill Grimm with a wrecker.

Lessons learned:
1. Cyphon does have game into infantry. Sprays are golden.
2. When screening with risen, it's important to avoid potential clusterfucks.
